Momentum in Japan – Appointment of Shuichi Seo & EU Trade Mission to Japan 2019

VideoVisit has been experiencing a big wave of activities and opportunities coming from the market of Japan.

– It’s exciting to see the momentum and interest in our holistic platform solution for remote caregiving and with each trip it gets better and better. Japan is one of the strategic entry markets chosen for business development for the next two years and the results of the activities so far has been impressive. Last year, VideoVisit was in Japan four times to develop contacts, networks and discuss potential partnerships and pilots with Japanese companies. Due to the high interest and potential we see from the market, we decided to take a bigger step forward, explains Michael Haralson, COO of VideoVisit Ltd.

Appointment of Mr. Shuichi Seo

Shuichi Seo appointed as Director, Sales & Business Development for the Japanese market.

It is with great pleasure that we formally announce the appointment of Mr. Shuichi Seo as Director, Sales & Business Development for the Japanese market.

Shuichi Seo has broad experience in research, consulting and business development on cross border businesses. He has had international working experience with Nomura Research Institute in Sydney and in London. He contributed to Nikko Asset Management and T&D Asset Management in developing new businesses. He was involved in advisory services on M&A and corporate finance with IBS Securities. He is a CFA charter holder and served as President of CFA Society Japan from 2013 to 2015. He has BA in Law from the University of Tokyo and MBA from the New York University.

EU Trade Mission to Japan 2019

Last month VideoVisit had the great opportunity to participate in the 2019 EU Trade Mission to Japan – we were one of 40 companies that were chosen to participate this year from a pool of some 350 companies that applied. Even more exciting for us was that we had attended the trade mission last year so it was an honour to be chosen once again. The trade mission activities are held in coordination with the Medtec Exhibition, one of the larger medical exhibitions held at Tokyo Big Site.

– This March we have increased our meeting activities to reach out to potential partners and customers, with a total of 27 key meetings! It includes the EU Trade Mission to Japan matchmaking team’s efforts, some walk-on opportunities at the Medtec Exhibition and Shuichi Seo’s efforts to arrange appointments. This included some large Japanese medical companies as well as a meeting at the Sendai Finnish Wellbeing Centre. We start to see positive momentum in finding partners and pilots in the Japanese market, Shuichi Seo summarizes the week full of activities.

2018 – The year of virtual care!

VideoVisit strengthens its presence in the Finnish public sector – 8 years long framework agreement on Online Customer Care

Publicly owned Finnish organizations such as municipalities and hospital districts can now take the next step with providing services online since VideoVisit Ltd signed 4+4 years long framework agreement with KL-Kuntahankinnat regarding VideoVisit’s online customer care platform.

Public services directly to home

Online customer care platform introduce new online communication functionalities that will help public organizations to provide their services anywhere at anytime. Service supports online chat communication either traditionally via text, but it also enables a smooth transition from instant messaging to video call. In addition to instant chat module, the service enables booking video appointments via built-in online calendar.

Besides online doctor appointment toolsets (chat, online calendar booking system) the framework singed also covers a technical solution for online doctor appointments. This ensures that the healthcare chain stays unbroken also in the virtual healthcare services.

New possibilities for public healthcare services

The framework agreement signed between VideoVisit and KL-Kuntahankinnat benefits Finnish public healthcare providers who have been looking for new ways to provide healthcare services to Finnish people. VideoVisit® platform adds value especially to rural areas where long distances create a need for online doctor appointments and doctor consultations.

Besides working as a stand-alone platform, healthcare providers have found VideoVisit’s open API functions really useful. VideoVisit® platform can be integrated for example with patient healthcare record systems, existing online calendar booking systems or contact center software.

 

VideoVisit and Vivago Ltd sign a strategic partnership

VideoVisit Ltd and Vivago Ltd, a Finnish pioneer in wellbeing and safety solutions for preventative care, have signed an agreement regarding a close co-operation in combining virtual care and wellbeing into one service concept. This holistic solution enhances home care service and provides significant cost efficiency.

Great feedback received from the unique service concept

VideoVisit and Vivago offer a solution that supports home care services and rehabilitation at clients’ homes by combining virtual visits with clients’ individual wellbeing data. This allows virtual nurses and doctors to follow client’s daily wellbeing on the on real time and plan virtual calls to client based on the information received from the wellbeing data.

In addition to this, real-time notifications inform about changes in the client’s wellbeing which enables care providers to react proactively and focus on individual care. When client’s wellbeing changes, home care provider has an instant access to client via video. For example, if an alarm is triggered either automatically by the system or by the client, a video call will be automatically opened between the service provider and the client.

City of Pori leads the way for others

Growing interest towards virtual care and wellbeing information have guided VideoVisit and Vivago to strengthen the partnership. Both parties see remarkable potential and opportunities with the strategic alliance, and most importantly the partnership will benefit both the service providers and clients.

A great signal of the positive feedback from the customer base are the first common customers. City of Pori has been the first Finnish municipality that has taken VideoVisit-Vivago service concept into use at home care and rehabilitation services.

The signed framework agreement gives public healthcare providers possibility to follow city of Helsinki’s great example of utilizing virtual care platform in healthcare services. With VideoVisit Home virtual care platform public healthcare and care service providers can now.

For healthcare providers the main benefits of starting to use virtual care comes from cost efficiency. With a limited amount of resources healthcare provider can offer services via video to a greater number of clients than before.

The framework agreement is a significant indication that the hard work and pioneer mentality in the virtual care market in Finland is paying off for VideoVisit.
