In 2016 Päijät-Hämeen hyvinvointiyhtymä was the first Finnish municipality that took VideoVisit® Home platform into active use through KL-Kuntahankinnat’s framework agreement. Päijät-Hämeen Hyvinvointiyhtymä wanted to provide more efficient home care services while also providing additional safety for its home care patients living at home.
Päijät-Häme has calculated that by providing one virtual home care visit per day for 60 home care patients they are able to save 15 work hours per day from home care nurses operating on the field. These saved work hours will be directed towards more challenging patients who often demand more attention from the nurses.
After implementing virtual care into home care and disabilities services, Päijät-Häme has broaden its virtual services even more with online doctor appointments and online doctor consultations.
